I don’t know about you, but for me Thanksgiving is a time of great joy. It’s a season to reflect on all the things that we are grateful for and all the things that bring us joy. But have you ever asked, where does joy come from?

The other day, I was reading “Knowing God’s Purpose For Your Life” and J. I. Packer gave 4 sources of true joy. Check them out and see if you agree:

  1. Joy flows from an awareness of being loved
  2. Joy flows from accepting one’s situation as good
  3. Joy flows from having something worth having
  4. Joy flows from giving something worth giving

What are your thoughts? Where does true joy come from?
