I had the privilege of teaching our Baby Dedication at South Tampa Fellowship this weekend. It was another reminder that, as parents, the only thing we truly own is our relationship with God. But when it comes to our kids, we are stewards…not owners. Our children belong to God but He has entrusted us with their care and growth.
It is our job to model what it means to follow Jesus and point our children to their Heavenly Father. As stewards, we don’t have all the answers. We have to trust God to lead us and depend on Him to guide us. As stewards, we need God to fill the gaps that we are not capable of filling.
So own your relationship with Jesus and don’t forget that you have given stewardship over your children, rather than ownership.
