Good Friday…it seems like such a paradox to call the day Jesus died on the cross “good.” What’s so “good” about the day that the sinless one was put to death by the most sinister mode of execution? Why is Good Friday “good”?
It is “good” because our sin separates us from God and only through Jesus Christ can our sins be forgiven.
It is “good” because Jesus’ death for us is the ultimate act of love.
It is “good” because His death restores our relationship with God and removes the separation caused by sin.
It is”good” because Jesus’ death sets us free. Free from the penalty of sin, free from the power of Satan, & free to live a full & meaningful life.
It is “good” because Jesus died so that we might live.
It is “good” because Jesus took the punishment for our sin.
It is “good” because redemption comes through the cross.
It is “good” because I am so bad…and Jesus is so good.
It is “good” because it is the prelude to the resurrection.
It is “good” because the grave could not hold Jesus. Three days later he rose and is alive today!
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. ~ 1 Peter 3:18
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:21
In my book, ‘The Passion,’ you will embark on a transformative journey, exploring the final week of Jesus’ earthly ministry.
