called to be His witnesses

Called To Be His Witnesses

All of Jesus’ followers are called to be His witnesses. As the ordinary people of God, equipped with the Word of God, empowered by the Spirit of God, and dedicated to the Son of God, we can accomplish the mission of God.

Called To Be Witnesses

Acts 1:8 is a key verse that tells us what is required of us as believers. Jesus tells his disciples that they will be his witnesses, and this is the mission that we have the power to fulfill. This verse is so important that it serves as the table of contents for the entire book of Acts. The book of Acts is divided into three sections, and each section represents a different geographical area where the disciples were called to be witnesses. The first section, chapters 1-7, represents Jerusalem. The second section, chapters 8-11, represents Judea and Samaria. The final section, chapters 12-28, represents the ends of the earth.

It’s important to note that not only was this the disciples’ mission, but it is also the mission of the Church. This is our mandate, and we are called to be witnesses for Christ. As witnesses, we are to proclaim the good news of salvation to those who do not yet know Christ, and to live out our faith in a way that is attractive to others. The power to fulfill this mission comes from the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to be effective witnesses for Christ.

As believers, our power to be a witness comes from the Holy Spirit. We are not left to accomplish the mission of God on our own. We are ordinary people who are equipped with the Word of God and empowered by the Spirit of God. Our dedication is to the Son of God, and with His help, we can accomplish the mission of God. The Holy Spirit gives us the boldness, courage, and strength to be effective witnesses for Christ. We can trust in Him to lead us, guide us, and empower us to do the work of the Kingdom. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can be a witness to the world around us and fulfill the mission that God has called us to.
