Today, I want to talk to you about something that lies at the core of our faith – living with gospel intentionality. It’s not just a fancy term; it’s a way of life that can transform how we live out our faith and impact those around us. It’s not just about going through the motions; it’s about understanding that we have a purpose, a mission, and divine appointments orchestrated in our lives by our Heavenly Father. Living with Gospel Intentionality means embracing your mission field and carrying the Gospel where you live, work, and play.
Where you’re on the map…
Let’s start with this powerful truth: God has strategically placed each one of us right where we are. It’s no accident that you’re where you are right now. Your neighborhood, your workplace, your school – these are all fertile grounds for spreading the love of Christ. Whether you find yourself in a bustling city or a small town, in a corporate office or working from home, on a job site or on a school campus…where God has placed you on the map is where He wants you to live on mission.
So, how do we live with gospel intentionality? It’s more than just being nice or caring (though those are important too!). Gospel intentionality means actively seeking out opportunities to share the life-transforming message of Jesus, both through our words and our actions.
It starts by viewing ourselves as missionaries sent by God. Yes, you read that right! You don’t have to travel to a distant land to be a missionary. You can be one right where you are, in the everyday moments of life. Where God has placed you on the map is where He wants you to be a missionary. Our neighborhoods, workplaces, and schools are our mission fields.
Ambassadors for Christ
Gospel intentionality means seeing yourselves as ambassadors of Christ, carrying the message of His love, grace, and redemption to everyone you meet. It means seeking the Lord’s guidance and asking Him to open your eyes to the needs and opportunities around you. It’s about being attentive to the needs of others, offering a listening ear, and being ready to share the hope you have in Christ when the time is right.
Remember, gospel intentionality means being intentional. Look for creative ways to share the love of Christ. You see, when we live with Gospel intentionality, we become the hands and feet of Jesus, extending His love to a hurting world. We become instruments of peace in times of chaos, agents of comfort in times of sorrow, and beacons of hope in times of darkness.
Step out of your comfort zone
Living with gospel intentionality isn’t always easy. It takes stepping out of our comfort zones and being vulnerable. But the rewards are immeasurable. As we faithfully live out our purpose as ambassadors of Christ, we can make a lasting impact on those around us.
Here’s my challenge to you: Take a moment to reflect on your life right now. Where has God placed you? Your home, your workplace, your school – they are all part of your mission field. Embrace these divine appointments, and commit to one intentional opportunity to share the love of Christ this week. It could be as simple as sending an encouraging text, praying for someone in need, or engaging in a conversation with a friend about faith.
Remember, God has strategically placed you where you live, work, and play to intentionally carry the Good News of Jesus.
