1 Story - Series Overview

From Series: "One Story"

The Bible is easily the most fascinating book in the world. Granted, some view it to be dry and even boring. Many people think of the Bible as a confusing mixture of events, stories, characters, and commands. Sixty-six books, written by some forty contributing authors, scattered over a period of roughly 1500 years, including virtually every genre known to man. We all can agree that the Bible can be challenging to read. Maybe you’ve cracked open the Bible only to discover that you’re not quite sure how it all fits together. Many of us know the stories of people like David, Samson, Noah, and Daniel…we know that ultimately the Bible is a book about Jesus. But we often don’t know how all those little stories fit together to form a much BIGGER story. If you have ever found the Bible strange, confusing, or challenging … this is the sermon series for you! I am convinced that understanding the big picture of God’s Story can help all the little stories make more sense. When we understand the single storyline of the Bible from beginning to end, Scripture comes alive. I truly believe that, as a result, your Bible will move from a closed book to an open one. That you will no longer think that only theologians and pastors can understand the Bible. And the next time you start reading Leviticus, you won’t lose heart.
